Using Priceline to Save up to 50% (or more) on Hotels! Using Priceline's "Name Your Own Price" bidding service is fast and easy! Simply: - Enter your travel dates on the home page and view the available published rates.
- From there select one of the 'Name Your Own Price' links.
- Enter your desired area, star level, and 'Name Your Own Price' to save B-I-G money on your next hotel!
- Priceline will tell you right away whether or not your hotel bid was accepted or rejected.
- Priceline will then show you the hotel you won and email you all the details (or tell you that your bid was rejected if you bid too low, which requires you to change some parameters or wait 24-hours to bid again). This is why creating an informed Priceline bidding strategy is so important for better bidding!

Priceline Tips:
- Priceline tip: Since you can only make one Priceline offer per itinerary (same price, city, check-in and check-out dates and star-level) in any 24-hour period, you'll want to be sure your first offer is your best offer!
- Priceline tip: Be as flexible as you can when it comes to travel dates, hotel star levels, and the areas of the city in which you're willing to stay. If Priceline does not accept your first offer, you'll have to change some of the details of your trip in order to bid again, so it's important to search the Priceline Bid Database and develop a Priceline bidding strategy to ensure you get your Priceline hotel!
- Priceline tip: The largest savings are typically realized when bidding on 3.5 to 4-star Priceline Hotels; though you still save a lot of money with lower quality hotels, the higher-end Priceline hotels offer the most savings off the standard rates!
- Priceline tip: ALWAYS start bidding with a single zone/neighborhood selected, as this will afford you more 'free rebids' when rejected!
- Priceline tip: You can rebid on Priceline hotels only once every 24 hours. If, however, you are willing to change the desired area (city, state, or zone), the check-in or check-out date, or star level, then Priceline will let you rebid on a hotel. So if your bid is rejected, you can add another zone and make another bid for slightly higher than your rejected bid. This is why developing a Priceline bidding strategy is so important!
- Priceline tip: If bidding for a 4-star Priceline hotel in New York City, 5 of the 12 neighborhoods are 'free rebid zones' (they have no 4* hotels), so if your Priceline bid is rejected, add a zone with no 4-star hotels and bid again without the 24-hour wait!
