Here you'll find the most frequently asked questions we've received. If, however, your question is not answered here, please contact us and we'll help you out. Who knows; perhaps your question will make it to our list of frequently asked questions!
Well, though we have no scentific evidence to substantiate this charge, we simply didn't think we could grow a Priceline community of people who wanted to "BidMore" when placing a Priceline bid! As many of us regular Priceline deal seekers know, if you bid too little and Priceline rejects your bid, you blew it and have to wait days before Priceline lets you bid again; bid too much and you have less to spend on your vacation! We like to find the proverbial "Priceline Sweet Spot." Not too much, not too little, but just right. Bid less, travel more. That's our motto! (and every other name we had in mind was already taken). :) We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee; if for any reason you are not 100% happy with the BidLessTravel community, we will promptly provide you with a full refund! Oh, wait, there are no costs whatsoever to join the BidLessTravel Priceline community! Well, we'll guarantee that you are satisified not having to pay for membership. (reads: membership is free). Well, yes and no. You cannot formally place the bid through out site; however, in an effort to help support the BidLessTravel.com Priceline community, you could 'link-through' BidLessTravel in a show of support. We need all the support we can get, as the new super-charged server is keeping us in the red in each month, not to mention the time invested, domain registration, help with the code, etc, etc. Even our coder needs a cup of coffee to keep going. Besides, we don't want to pay to have the previous graphic removed and change the aforementioned FAQ that asserts "membership is free." So in short, please help support BidLess by linking through us when you use the community Priceline bid database to research your Priceline bidding stategy; every $.25 helps! The Priceline bid database is the center of the BidLessTravel community universe; everything revolves around these data! Most simply, the Priceline bid database stores historical Priceline bids the Bidless community submits...fully searchable/filterable...and indispensable when formulating your own personal Priceline bidding strategies! For more information, please visit the general Priceline Bid Database page to learn more about this invaluable tool! You must first register for the site, at which time you will be mailed a validation code confirming your email address; once you are a full member (again, membership is free!) of the Priceline community, you need to login, as we require all users of the database to be full members in order to maintain the integrity of our data. While logged in, please visit the Submit Priceline Bids to Database page and select the type of Priceline bid you are entering into the database; your choices are: - Priceline Hotel Bids
- Priceline Flight Bids
- Priceline Rental Car Bids
Once you make your selection, you will be directed to the respective page, at which point you will be presented with a simple 'Priceline Bid Form.' Fully complete all the known fields (i.e., whether or not your Priceline bid was accepted, for which state and city you placed your bid, the amount you bid, etc) and submit the form. Once submitted, the data are passed to the database, saved in some fancy data tables, and instantly become available for search by other community members. It's that easy. To search the Priceline bid database for historical bids submitted by BidLess members, please visit the Search Priceline Bids page. Once there, you will be presented with a table containing a myraid of Priceline bids. In the upper-right hand corner you will find a search/filter box that allows you to query the Priceline data by your choice of parameters. Let's say, for example, that you want to search all Priceline hotel bids in New York. Simply select "Hotels" for the 'Type of Bid' drop-down field, select "New York" for the state, and the table will automatically refresh and filter the entire database and display only those bids that meet your preselected criteria. You will also see an 'advanced search' link that will present you with a more powerful (and more complicated) search tool to do evern more advanced searches of the data. As time permits, we plan on creating a series of video tutorials that walk new members through some of the more advanced features of the site. We strongly feel, though, that we have made the process as easy and intuitive as possible. Should you have any addition questions, however, please feel free to Contact Us and we'll do our best to help you get the most out of the BidLessTravel community. Editing your profile has never been easier! We've created a menu-item entitled, " My Profile." This is a sub-menu that resides under the " Community" menu. Click on My Profile and you will be taken to your profile (note: you must be logged in to view/edit your profile.
Ahhh, this is super-secret information and very tough to find. (you must have your Priceline Request Number OR the credit card & phone number used)
When you want to post in the BidLessTravel blog, please save the post in the "Members Blog" section; when you click on "Write New Entry," the BidLessBlog editor pops up and you will see a drop-down on the right-hand side entitled, "Select a Category." Please select "Members Blog" from list as seen below:
We will move any posts not posted in the proper section and, if the problem continues, perhaps pull your blogging rights...perhaps a three-strikes policy? We'll see how it goes, but please post all blogs in the "members blog" section.
We're working on it! Though they will always be a work-in-progress, we will expand them with more helpful information in the not-too-distant future...unless you stop asking questions, of course! :)
