Who Are We?
We are literally a 'mom & pop' operation (Timmy, our first, was born in August 2006!) who absolutely loves using Priceline to book our weekend 'getaways!' We use Priceline exclusively for all our hotels and wholeheartedly believe Priceline offers the best deals on hotels when you "name your own price!" That said, we get very, VERY excited when we do, in fact, save 50% off our Priceline hotels when our bids are accepted; however, we are also quite disappointed when our Priceline bids are REJECTED! Given the time you have to wait to place another Priceline bid after being rejected, we often have to change our plans when we are unsuccessful. This makes Timmy mad, too! One weekend, after placing multiple bids using multiple credit cards, none of which were accepted, we thought, "There has to be a better way." If we only knew how much to bid for our Priceline hotel. If we only knew that another $5 would have secured the hotel, we would have gladly bid an additional $5 at that time. But without knowing, if you bid too little, you run the rest of staying home that weekend, again, making Timmy mad! You also run the risk of bidding too much for your Priceline hotel (or Priceline flights and Priceline rental cars, too!), and that makes 'pops' mad! In walks BidLessTravel.com - the Home of the Priceline Bid Database!By recording how much *others* have bid, we would get a general sense on how much one has to bid to get the desired hotel in the target destination (Timmy likes Ocean City, Maryland, so he can run on the beach and eat 'nuggies' on the boardwalk). Bid too little and you blew it; bid too much and you have less to spend on your vacation. We like to find the proverbial "Priceline Sweet Spot." Not too much, not too little, but just right. Bid less, travel more. That's our motto! We created the BidLessTravel community out of the frustration we had searching other Priceline-related sites for historical bids; who wants to search Internet forums and read post and post after post after post to get enough information to formulate a solid Priceline bidding strategy? Moreover, some of those other Priceline-related sites run their forums like the "brown-shirts" ruled Germany, banning you for omitting a "*" or forgetting to post the zone, etc, etc, etc. If you breath wrong, you are banned. We didn't feel welcome at those other sites. Instead, we said, "We should create a more family-friendly community that offers lots of easy-to-search information on all things Priceline, that offers all the things the 'cool kids' are using on their sites, like blogs and pictures and videos and forums (much less restrictive forums, of course) and all sorts of stuff that makes members of the community feel like one big happy Priceline family." We feel we have accomplished that with BidLessTravel.com! In short, though we created this site to help US make more informed Priceline hotel bids, we also build it with you, the Priceline community, in mind. We therefore welcome any suggestions you have and improvements we could make to make the whole Priceline bidding experience more enjoyable for you. Let's us know what we can do to make you feel like family. Respectfully, Mom, Pop, and Timmy! BidlessTravel.com - Home of the Priceline Bid Database!
